Disability and seniors’ service providers have an opportunity to be in Shayne Neumann’s 2017 community directories.
The Federal Member for Blair has invited the community to submit entries in the 2017 Blair Disability Links and Blair Seniors Links booklets.
The Blair Disability Links booklet was first launched in 2010 and has gone on to be a popular community resource.
“Since then I have given away over 40,000 of the books throughout Ipswich and the Somerset Region and beyond,” Mr Neumann said.
“It was developed in response to the lack of awareness of the services available in the electorate for those living with disability, their families and carers.
“It’s a great source of community information and widely appreciated by individuals and services providers alike.”
In 2015 Mr Neumann launched the Blair Seniors Links directory to link-up families with local service providers who can ease the transition into retirement or aged care.
“As our population ages there is increasing pressure on younger generations to look after parents and grandparents.
“In the past 12 months I have given away more than 5,000 of the Blair Seniors Links directory, which provides a lot of community information in one place.”
The next Blair Disability and Seniors Links books will be launched at the Blair Disability Links Expo, planned for 2 December 2016 at the Brassall Shopping Centre.
Organisations and community groups wishing to participate in the publication should contact Mr Neumann’s office on 3201 5300 or email Shayne.Neumann.MP@aph.gov.au.
