IMPROVED MOBILE COVERAGE IN ROSEWOOD

04 February 2025
Locals and visitors to Rosewood are benefiting from improved mobile coverage thanks to the Albanese Government’s Peri-Urban Mobile Program (PUMP).
PUMP provides funding to improve mobile connectivity in bushfire and other natural disaster-prone areas along the edges of Australia's major cities.
The new macro cell base station at Rosewood will provide new and improved 4G and 5G mobile coverage to the area which previously experienced limited coverage.
In addition to improved mobile and data connectivity, the project enhances public safety communications during emergencies and natural disasters.
The base station was funded by the Albanese Government and TPG Telecom and is one of three mobile base stations now delivered under Round 1 of PUMP.
PUMP complements the Mobile Black Spot Program, providing grant funding to mobile network operators and infrastructure providers to deploy new mobile phone infrastructure to address mobile reception and coverage issues in peri-urban areas.
